Year 3

Welcome to Year 3!

Year Three is part of the ‘Lower Phase’ in our school. Mrs Jacoby is the phase leader for Year 3 and her role is to support the staff, children and families. Moving from Year 2 to Year 3 is an exciting transition into KS2. The children will be immersed into our Year 3 topics: A Child’s Life, Food Glorious Food and Across the Ages. These topics offer fantastic learning opportunities and are enhanced by trips to the Black Country Museum and Cadbury World. Children also start learning French and taking swimming lessons!

As well as the great academic opportunities, Year 3 is all about encouraging the children to become increasingly independent and confident. Children may leave school at the end of the day via Gate 3 (KS2 gate) or you are still able to collect your child from their classroom if you wish (parents coming via Gate 1 onto the school site).

The children in Key Stage 2 no longer receive free fruit, so they are encouraged to bring in fruit or vegetables to eat at playtime.

During the course of the year, you will have the opportunity to join us in school to work with your children at our parent event and to celebrate your child's learning – we hope to see you there!
